"SteamPunk" is a design movement that combines modern technology with retro (usually Victorian) industrial design. The object is of this movements to show the beauty of the machines of earlier eras, while illustrating their adaptability to the modern world.
"Classic steampunk" refers to Victorian design elements alone, but the term "steampunk" has been stretched to include technology from the Renaissance period through the 1930's
